This Privacy Policy explains how information about you is collected, used and disclosed by KnowBull LLC ("KnowBull", "we", "our" or "us") when you use our website, mobile applications and other online services (collectively, the "Services") or when you otherwise engage with us. This Policy does not apply to the actions of companies or individuals that we don't employ, manage or have control over. By accessing the Services, you acknowledge and agree that you have read and agree to this Privacy Policy and we encourage you to read this document carefully before using the Services.

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time, in which case we'll notify you by changing the date at the head of this policy document. We suggest you check for updates to this Privacy Policy whenever you access the Services. Continuing to use the Services after any amendment constitutes your acceptance of the Privacy Policy as amended.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information you provide to us, and we promise that this information won't be knowingly mis-used in any way. We collect information when you join as a Member, use the Services to manage your Private Database, enter or respond to job posts, request customer support or otherwise communicate with us. The types of information we may collect include (without limitation) your name, email address, professional profile information, professional contacts and any other information you may choose to provide.

When you access or use our Services

We automatically collect certain information about you when you use our services, including:

  • When you provide or receive recommendations, make introductions or manage your Private Database.
  • When you use our website, we collect information about your browser type and language, access times, pages viewed, your IP address and the website you visited before navigating to our websites.
  • We may collect information about the computer or device you use to access our Services, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifier and phone number. In addition, the Services may access your device's native phonebook, with your consent, to facilitate your use of certain features of the Services. Information Collected by Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

We use various technologies to collect information, and this may include sending cookies to you. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory that help us to improve our Services and your experience. We may also obtain information from other sources and combine that with information we collect through our Services.

Information about your connections

When you enter information about your professional connections into your Member Database, we promise that we will collect and securely store this information about your connections.

We promise that this information will be accessed only by you and the connection the information refers to. You promise that you have obtained the permission of the connection concerned to load their information into your private Member Database. This information may include their photo, name, email address, and professional career resume. You may also be able to invite other Members to the Services by providing us with their personal information.

USE OF INFORMATION

Your email address

We will use your email address to send you alerts from other Members regarding jobs and gigs they may have available, and for which you may have suitable candidates.

We will also use your email address to alert you when another Member responds to a post you have made on the NoticeBoard regarding jobs and gigs that you may have available, and for which they may have a suitable candidate.

General

We may use information about you for various purposes, including to:

  • Provide, maintain and improve our Services.
  • Provide any products and services you may request, process transactions and send you relevant and related information.
  • Respond to your comments, questions and requests and provide customer service.
  • Send you technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages.
  • Communicate with you about products and services offered by KnowBull, and provide news and information we think will be of interest to you.
  • Monitor and analyse trends, usage and activities in connection with our Services.
  • Personalize and improve the Services and provide content that matches user profiles or interests.
  • Use information we source from others to further understand your requirements and provide you with better service;
  • Detect, investigate and/or prevent fraudulent, unauthorized or illegal activity.
  • Fulfil any other stated purpose for which the information was collected.

Sharing of Information

We may share information about you as follows or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy:

  • With employer clients and other Members who may view your KnowBull profile to select a KnowBull Member to assist them. This will include your name, general location and title (or professional description), feedback rating and your stated areas of professional expertise.
  • With vendors, consultants and other service providers who need access to such information to carry out work on our behalf.
  • In response to legal process or a request for information if we believe disclosure is in accordance with any applicable law, rule, or regulation, or as otherwise required by any applicable law, rule or regulation.
  • In order to enforce or apply (or investigate or remedy potential violations of) our user agreements or policies, or to protect the rights, property and safety of KnowBull, our employees, our Members or others.
  • In connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business; and
  • With your consent or at your direction.

We may also share aggregated information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

Analytics Services Provided by Others

We may allow others to provide analytics services on our behalf. These service providers may use cookies, web beacons and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Services and other websites, including your device information, IP address, web browser, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked and conversion information. This information may be used to, among other things, analyse and track data, determine the popularity of certain content, better understand your online activity and improve the Services.

Security

We take every reasonable measure we can to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access. Unauthorized access or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors, may compromise the security of user information at any time. Therefore, although we take great care to keep your information safe and private, we can't absolutely promise that your personal information will always remain secure. Members should take care with how they share their personal information and should avoid sending personal information through insecure email.

YOUR CHOICES

Account Information: You may update or correct information in your KnowBull Member profile by editing your profile information, accessed via your dashboard. If you wish to cancel your membership, please contact help@knowbull.io, but note that we may still retain certain information associated with your membership for analytical, as well as to prevent fraud, enforce our terms and conditions, take actions we deem necessary to protect the integrity of the Services or our Members, or take other actions otherwise permitted by law.

Cookies: Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect the availability and functionality of our website.

Push Notifications/Alerts/Emails: KnowBull may send push notifications or alerts to your device. You can deactivate these messages at any time by changing the notification settings on your device. KnowBull may also send email notifications to you when others provide or accept recommendations relating to you. You may unsubscribe from these emails by using the "unsubscribe" link in any notification email from KnowBull.
